The Penny Motel - a great little place to stay.

The Penny Motel is one of the most convenient located motels in Deadwood. After a short five minute walk downhill, you will find yourself in the middle of the action on Historic Main Street. Trolley service is also available to get you back and forth. Despite the fact that all of the happening places are very close, the quiet residential neighborhood of the Penny Motel guarantees for a good night sleep. You can choose from a total of 15 units, 7one-bed rooms, 5 two-bed rooms, 1 two-bed room with kitchenette and dining area, 2 double units with seperate bedrooms.

All our rooms have been recently remodeled and it is our pride and joy to keep them clean and tidy! Most of the rooms have queen beds, all have remote control cable TV, air-conditioning, though it cools off at night even on the hottest days, shower or tub/shower combination, direct dial telephones.

Amenities

We do not just want to offer you a good, clean place to rest for the best rate in town, no, we also try hard to provide good service and amenities like the big places do, such as:

• fresh brewed coffee in the morning
• free ice for your cold drinks after a hard day of sightseeing
• drinks that you might enjoy on our patio while your steak is sizzling on our guest barbecue.
  
• hair dryers in each room.
  
• if you are more in the mood for a meal in one of the restaurants further down the road, you can take advantage of the discount coupons we have available
• pick our brains for touring and travel information, we are also glad to help you with any bookings and reservations for the Trial of Jack McCall, Black Hills Passion Play, Events at the Deadwood Pavilion, etc.
• other amenities: laundry facilities, reduced admission to Deadwood Recreation Center (indoor pool, gym)

Standard Motel Rooms: Single Rooms with one Queen size bed, Double Rooms with two Queen or two Double beds, Cable TV, Telephone, Hair Dryer, AC, Smoking or Non, located in our two story Main Building

Branch House Rooms: More space and comfort for a bit more money: All Rooms with one or two Queen size beds, 25" TV, Refrigerator, Micro Wave, Coffeemaker, Telephone, Hair Dryer, AC, Non-Smoking only, completely renovated in 2003, located in our one story Branch House across the street from the main building.
